ISLAMABAD, Pakistan - Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has stated that Pakistan may need to import over a million tonnes of wheat from Russia if the right price, terms, and conditions are met as the country recovers from the devastating floods.

The prime minister told the Associated Press (AP) on Friday that the floods have directly affected 33 million people and killed approximately 1,500 people, including children.

The prime minister stated that UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has agreed to hold an immediate donors' conference.

Shehbaz stated that the disaster is "not Pakistan's fault," urging those with resources to come forward and help with the rescue, relief, and rehabilitation efforts.
